Brendan Schaub and Mark Hunt Engage in War of Words on Twitter

Dating back to March, it began when Brendan Schaub called out Mark Hunt, wanting a fight with the #8 ranked heavyweight.

Initially Mark Hunt thought it was a step back to fight with Schaub, but in Hunt’s words “but if he wants go to sleep first, than sure, why not.”

FOX Sports’s Ariel Helwani reported Wednesday on UFC Tonight that Mark Hunt vs Brendan Schaub was a possibility for UFC Fight Night in New Zealand on June 28th. But because Mark Hunt has just been cleared to punch—after suffering a hand injury in his 5-round fight against Antonio Silva at UFC Fight Night 33 in Australia—the potential fight could not be made.

The two heavyweights engaged in an exchanging of entertaining tweets over twitter on Wednesday evening, calling each other out and likely cementing their future meeting.

Brendan Schaub (10-3) is coming off back to back wins over Lavar Johnson, and the latest over Matt Mitrione at UFC 165 in September.

Mark Hunt (9-8-1) is coming off a draw to Antonio “Big Foot” Silva in their 5-round fight of the night performance back in December at UFC Fight Night 33.
