Alexander Shlemenko Wants A Fight with Tito Ortiz at Bellator PPV

The reigning Bellator Middleweight Champion, Alexander “Storm” Shlemenko posted a Youtube video calling out and challenging long-time UFC veteran and legend of the sport, Tito Ortiz to a fight at the Bellator PPV on May 17th.

“Tito Ortiz, you say you want to fight May 17th on Bellator’s PPV, I will fight you, I will beat you. Tito, I respect you, but I must beat you because I am champion.”

“I know that Tito Ortiz is different weight class, I know that Tito Ortiz is a light heavyweight, this is no problem for me. I’m ready, I’m ready to fight at light heavyweight, no problem.”

“Bjorn, make this fight for me because I am champion and I am the best. I will make good fight, fight of the night.”

Alexander Shlemenko (50-7) achieved his 50th career MMA win in his last bout in March—successfully defending his title against Brennan Ward at Bellator 114. The 29 year old Russian is riding a 13-fight win streak dating back to 2011. And it seems he now has his sights set on Tito Ortiz.

Tito Ortiz (16-11-1) signed with Bellator in July of 2013 after his departure from the UFC, and was scheduled to face Quinton “Rampage” Jackson on the first Bellator PPV, however an injury to Ortiz’s neck put a hold on those plans. But now the former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion has been cleared to fight as he tweeted earlier on in the day.
