A fight between two promising middleweights has been added to UFC Fight Night 44, as Clint Hester and Antonio Braga Neto are set to square off in an interesting 185lbs bout. Though yet to be officially announced by UFC officials, the fight was added to the card’s page on the UFC’s official site, likely meaning an announcement is imminent. The Fight Night 44 card is headlined by a featherweight fight between heavy hitters Cub Swanson and Jeremy Stephens.
Clint Hester has impressed since his time in The Ultimate Fighter season 17. Despite being eliminated in just the second round of the tournament, Hester has found success inside the Octagon, winning all three of his fights for the promotion. With wins over fellow ex-TUF contestants Bristol Marunde, Dylan Andrews and Andy Enz, Hester will fight for a fourth time in just over a year as he faces promising Brazilian Antonio Braga Neto.
The 26 year old Neto has some of the most impressive Brazilian jiu-jitsu in the division and after defeating the likes of Maiquel Falcao and Brock Larson, he finally made his much awaited UFC debut last June.Neto failed to disappoint, defeating a tough fighter in Anthony Smith just 112 seconds into the fight via kneebar, which marked his seventh win in nine via form of submission. Neto is 9-1 and has a ton of momentum coming into this fight, but faces a tough test in Clint Hester, who has come into his own since joining the UFC.
