Japanese star and Bantamweight Queen of Pancrase Rin Nakai added another impressive name to her resume after she defeated WMMA veteran and Invicta Fighting Championships star “The Monster” Sarah D’Alelio via decision at Pancrase 258 in her come country of Japan.
Nakai’s mat skills helped her control the fight on the canvas though D’Alelio prevented her opponent from securing any submissions. Nakai also displayed some solid defense, foiling The Monster’s attempt at a kneebar.
Nakai improves her record to 16-0 with 1 no contest. While she continues to grow as a star in Japan, it would be curious to see how she would do in the United States, especially after defeating four consecutive American opponents.
As for D’Alelio, this was her first fight outside of the United States and sometimes that can affect a fight – not saying that it was the reason for the loss. She now sits at 7-6 and is currently on a three-fight losing streak though those defeats were all via decision.
