Germaine de Randamie welcomes Milana Dudeiva to the octagon

Germaine de Randamie is ready to rebound from her first UFC defeat and get back on the winning track. The first test will come in the form of newcomer, Milana Dudieva at UFC 174, June 14.

De Randamie, known as “The Iron Lady” is coming off of a loss to Amanda “Lioness of the Ring” Nunes, who finished the Dutch fighter in the first round. Prior to that fight she had back-to-back victories over Julie “Fireball” Kedzie and Hiroko Yamanaka.

Dudieva comes into her octagon debut on a two-fight winning streak. Back in April she defeated Daria Chibisova via submission. Before that she faced Anastasia Plisenkova where she secured an armbar and forced Plisenkova to tap in 32 seconds.

On paper this appears to be a classic striker vs. grappler type match. While Dudieva – who has six submission victories – has the advantage on the ground, de Randamie’s kickboxing background gives her the edge on the feet. Although Dudieva has more MMA fights on her resume, de Randamie has faced tougher competition since she came to Strikeforce. There’s also a chance Dudieva may have trouble making the transition of competing inside of the octagon.

De Randamie vs. Dudieva joins the rest of the action-packed UFC 174 fight card, which will be headlined by the flyweight title bout between Demetrious Johnson vs. Ali Bagautinov.
