Titan Fighting Championship will be crowning a new champion in the near future, in the light heavyweight division. The promotion recently announced a fight pitting Jason Brilz vs Vinny Magalhaes for the vacant Titan FC Light Heavyweight Championship.
Jason Brilz (22-5-1) and Vinny Magalhaes were originally scheduled to meet at Titan FC 28, which took place this past weekend, but a staff infection suffered by Magalhaes forced him out of the fight. Brilz took on replacement, Raphael Davis and won a close split decision in his Titan FC debut. Now on a 4-fight win streak since his departure from the UFC, the 38 year old Jason Brilz will fight for the light heavyweight title against his original opponent.
Vinny Magalhaes (10-7, 1 NC) will be making his debut for Titan FC when he fights for the vacant title, it will be his first fight since being released from the UFC in August of 2013. The former M-1 Global light heavyweight champion now looks to capture a 2nd championship in MMA to go along with his ADCC and BJJ world championships. The grappling ace has won 8 of his fights by submission—against Brilz who has only been submitted once in his 28-fight career.
