Legacy Fighting Championship has one of the best women strikers in mixed martial arts in Holly Holm. Now they’ve added one of the top female grapplers in the world.
Legacy FC president Mick Maynard announced that the promotion signed ADCC World champion and Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Michelle Nicolini to a multi-fight contract.
Nicolini is a six-time jiu-jitsu world champion and a ADCC 2013 winner. She holds a submission win over Kyra Gracie at ADCC 2012.
In addition to her Brazilian jiu-jitsu accolades, Nicolini is currently 2-0 in mixed martial arts. She has back-to-back first-round submission victories Lanchana Green and Cristina Mejia.
There is no word on when Nicolini will make her Legacy FC debut, but she is expected to compete at 115 pounds.
There are not any other women strawwweight fighters signed to Legacy FC as of right now, though with the UFC bringing in 115-pound fighters, I’m sure Legacy will bring more competition for Nicolini. If the BJJ world champion can rack up some impressive victories, she could end up fighting for the UFC.
