The fifth UFC pay-per-view of the year will be held at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV. on Saturday night, with UFC 173 headlined by a UFC bantamweight title bout between champion Renan Barao and challenger TJ Dillashaw. With Barao defending his title for the first time at UFC 169, he hopes to build on his impressive winning streak with a win over another member of the respected Team Alpha Male. Dillashaw comes into the fight with five wins in his last six, and will look to shock the MMA world with a victory over the bantamweight title holder.
In the co-main event is a light heavyweight fight with title implications between Daniel Cormier and Dan Henderson, with the winner set to fight for the title against the winner of the imminent Jon Jones vs. Alexander Gustafsson II. Welterweight contenders Robbie Lawler and Jake Ellenberger will square off in a pivotal contest, with the winner being close to a title shot if they can impress in this three-round contest. Another bout with title implications will be on the main card, as bantamweights Takeya Mizugaki and Francisco Rivera squaring off. Lightweights Jamie Varner and James Krause will kick off the main card.
