TUF Live champion Michael Chiesa went two in a row with a dominant win over tough Brazilian Francisco Trinaldo to cap off the FOX Sports 1 preliminary card. Chiesa dominated the fight, even earning 30-26 scorecards from two of the judges, and earned the unanimous decision win. Trinaldo has now lost two of his last three, and looked out of his depth on the ground against Chiesa.

Chiesa used superior wrestling and grappling throughout the fight and looked impressive, though faced a couple of problems at different stages of the fight. In the first round, Chiesa was rocked by a body kick, but claimed that it hit the cup, grimacing in pain and almost being dropped. Late on in the third round, Trinaldo almost caught Chiesa with an armbar in the guard, but Chiesa used his savvy grappling to escape from the position and he went on to land some blows to end the fight.

Another TUF champion in Tony Ferguson also impressed on the preliminary card, finishing highly touted lightweight Katsunori Kikuno in the first round. Ferguson rocked Kikuno early, and went on to almost finish him with more than one submission attempt, but Kikuno escaped. Ferguson went on to rock Kikuno again, before landing a big right hand that ended the fight and gave Ferguson his second win in a row. ‘El Cucuy’ is now 5-1 in the UFC and looked better than ever in this fight.

And, guess what, another TUF champion was victorious as Chris Holdsworth defeated Chico Camus in a bantamweight bout. Camus landed some nice shots throughout the fight, but the grappling advantage of Holdsworth made it a dominant victory for the TUF 18 winner. Camus was 3-1 in the UFC going into the fight, but Holdsworth looked great en route to his second victory in the Octagon. Holdsworth is a big prospect in the bantamweight division and, at just 26 years of age, could have a bright future in the UFC.

Kicking off the FOX Sports 1 portion of the preliminary card was a lightweight fight between Mitch Clarke and TUF Live runner-up Al Iaquinta. Iaquinta had a strong round 1, rocking Clarke just a minute into the fight and dominating from top position to earn a 10-8 round. The second looked to be going in the same direction before Clarke caught Iaquinta sleeping while trying to pass guard, locking up a tight d’arce choke and putting Iaquinta to sleep. The come-from-behind victory from Clarke was very impressive and took his UFC record to 2-2, handing Iaquinta his first loss in four.
