Jon Fitch has lost his 3rd scheduled opponent for WSOF 11 in as many months. Josh Burkman suffered an hyper-extended elbow injury one month out from the scheduled fight against Jon Fitch on July 5th. Burkman tweeted that he had suffered ligament damage and bone bruise that will force him to be 4-6 months.
The former WSOF welterweight champion, Josh Burkman also tweeted that he still hopes to complete the trilogy between himself and Jon Fitch in the future.
@jonfitchdotnet We’ll still get that 3rd one in. Good luck to you, who ever your opponent.

World Series of Fighting will now have to search for a 4th opponent for Jon Fitch to keep him on the WSOF 11 event, after initially having his first opponent, WSOF welterweight champion Rousimar Palhares, withdrawing in April to take care of his mother. Followed by his original replacement opponent, Jake Shields pulling out in May with an injury.
WSOF 11 is scheduled to take place at the Ocean Center in Daytona, Florida on Saturday July 5th. The promotion’s debut on the NBC Network is headlined by a WSOF lightweight title fight between Justin Gaethje and Nick Newell.
