World Series of Fighting has found a 4th opponent for Jon Fitch to compete against at WSOF 11, in 70-fight veteran Dennis Hallman (53-14-2, 1 NC). The 38-year old is scheduled to make his WSOF debut on July 5th in the co-main event of the card in Daytona, Florida at the Ocean Center.
WSOF quickly found a replacement for Jon Fitch, just one day after he lost his 3rd opponent for the event, when news came out that Josh Burkman had to pull out due an elbow injury suffered. Fitch’s previous two opponents Jake Shields and Rousimar Palhares both previously withdrew from their WSOF 11 bouts against Fitch.
Dennis Hallman comes into this fight on a 3-fight win streak, last competed in December of 2013—defeating Aleksey Shapovlov in Russia. He has also defeated John Makdessi and Dan Hornbuckle in his previous 2 bouts, and has also won 5 of his last 6. The former UFC welterweight has been competing in mixed martial arts since 1996, and has competed against the who’s who in the world of MMA, including Matt Hughes, Frank Trigg, Caul Uno, and Jens Pulver.
Hallman was scheduled to be one of the eight competitors in the Battlegrounds MMA 8-man, one night tournament on June 27th, but forgoes that tournament to compete on WSOF 11.
