Jason Brilz vs Vinny Magalhaes for Light Heavyweight Title at Titan FC 30

Originally scheduled for the Titan FC 28 main event, Vinny Magalhaes will now face Jason Brilz to crown the inaugural Titan FC Light Heavyweight champion. The two will be facing off at Titan FC 30 on September 26th at the Cedar Park Center in Cedar Park, Texas, first reported by MMAFighting.com.

Vinny Magalhaes (10-7, 1 NC) suffered a staff infection prior to their first scheduled meeting in May and was forced to withdraw from the bout. The ADCC and World BJJ champion will finally make his Titan FC debut after signing with the promotion in January. The former M-1 Global Light Heavyweight champion, returned for a 2nd stint in the UFC in 2012, defeating Igor Pokrajac. But back-to-back losses to Phil Davis and Anthony Perosh forced him out of the UFC, with an overall record of 1-4 during his two stints.

But before that, Vinny Magalhaes has a scheduled grappling match in the upcoming Metamoris 4 event, against another previously scheduled opponent, Keenan Cornelius on August 9th.

Jason Brilz (22-5-1) is riding a 4-fight win streak since his departure from the UFC, including a Titan FC debut split decision win over replacement opponent, Raphael Davis at Titan FC 28. The 38 year old went 3-4 in the UFC–including a win over Tim Boetsch–but suffered three straight losses and was given his walking papers in 2011.

The event will air on CBS Sports Network.
