Strawweight Juliana Lima is getting her chance to fight in the octagon, despite not being on “The Ultimate Fighter: Team Pettis vs. Team Melendez.”
According to reports, the Brazilian fighter will face the undefeated Polish power house Joanna Jedzejczyk at UFC on Fox 12, July 26.
Lima was one of 11 strawweights who signed with the UFC in 2013. She was set to appear on “TUF 20“ however she was taken off the show because she could not speak English. Still, UFC officials aren’t holding that against her and will let her compete in the octagon.
Lima is currently 6-1 in her MMA career. Her last fight was in October 2013 when she finished Liliani Trolezi in 68 seconds.
Meanwhile Jedrzejczyk comes in with a 6-0 record. She scored the biggest win of her career back in June when she scored a second–round knockout over UFC veteran Rosi “The Surgeon” Sexton.
This match should be quite a barn burner against two up-and-coming prospects who will be vying to show that the best women’s 115-pound fighters are not just in the “TUF” house.
