Vitor Belfort's message to Chris Weidman: Now I want what I deserve

The original number one contender to Chris Weidman’s UFC middleweight title, and the man who was scheduled to fight Weidman, Vitor Belfort had a message to send to the champion following his successful title defense at UFC 175 over Lyoto Machida.

Vitor Belfort sent a message to Chris Weidman in the form of an instagram post:

Now I want what I deserve, MY TITIE SHOT!!! Don’t run away!! No excuses!!

Dana White told reporters post-fight that he would like to see Vitor Belfort get the next shot at the middleweight champion. But Vitor has to handle his issues with the commission first.

“What I’d like to see and what you’d like to see is probably Vitor Belfort. So, let’s see what happens with Vitor. If this guy can get his business handled,” Dana said.

Belfort originally removed himself from the scheduled bout at UFC 173 against Weidman following the TRT ban laid down by the Nevada Athletic State Commission, stating that he needed time to get adjusted to being off TRT. He later revealed that he had failed a random drug test administered by the NSAC in February.

Vitor Belfort is currently on a 3-fight winning streak—all 3 impressive knockouts against top 10 opponents in the middleweight division.
