Fresh off his RFA heavyweight title win at RFA 16, the undefeated Josh Copeland (9-0) has been signed to the UFC.
Josh “The Cuddly Bear” Copeland knocked out the previously unbeaten Jan Joregensen in the first round at RFA 16 in July, to capture the vacant title. A member of Grudge Training Centre, the heavyweight has finished 7 of his 9 career victories—all in the first round, 3 by way of knockout, and 4 via submission.
Copeland figures to be a strong addition to one of the weaker divisions in the UFC, his well rounded mix of striking and grappling proves to be a tough challenge for any opponent in the future. Light on his feet for a heavyweight, while possessing huge power as Copeland displayed in his previous fight.
Josh Copeland joins a long line of Resurrection Fighting Alliance competitors that have found success in the promotion, leading to their signing with the UFC. A list that includes: Pedro Munhoz, Kevin Casey, Sergio Pettis, Zach Makovsky, Brian Ortega, Mike Rhodes, and Brandon Thatch.
