Bellator’s new management has released a total of 13 fighters from their roster, first reported by MMAFighting.com. The new regime led by President Scott Coker continue to make their mark on Bellator, releasing a former champion, a Bellator tournament winner, and a couple of tournament finalists—are among the 13 released.
Former Bellator Light Heavyweight champion, Attila Vegh (29-5-2), who suffered his first loss in Bellator–in 6 fights–to Emanuel Newton at Bellator 113, losing his title in the process.
Season 7 featherweight tournament winner, Shahbulat Shamhalaev (12-3-1), who won his first three bouts in Bellator—all by knockout. But suffered back-to-back losses, including a first round submission loss to champion, Pat Curran.
Season 10 featherweight tournament finalist, Desmond Green (11-3), who lost in the finals against Daniel Weichel, bumping his record to 3-2 in Bellator.
Long-time Bellator veteran, Bryan Baker (18-5), a 4-time tournament competitor, and 2-time tournament finalist, has been competing in Bellator since 2009 (Bellator 10).He has achieved a record of 8-4 in the promotion, but has lost his last two fights to Karl Amoussou and Douglas Lima.
