Chan Sung Jung Suffers Injury, Out of UFC Stockholm vs. Akira Corassani

“The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung was scheduled to make his return on October 4th on UFC Fight Night in Stockholm against Akira Corassani, however it was reported by MMA-in-Asia that Jung has suffered a set back in his shoulder recovery and is forced to pull out of the bout.

Jung suffered dislocated shoulder in his title fight loss against Jose Aldo at UFC 163 in August of last year. The injury required surgery and rehab. Jung was set to make his return but unfortunately suffered a strain to the same shoulder that was operated on.

It is reported that Jung will need four weeks to recover and rehab the strain, before being cleared by the doctor to resume training.

Chan Sung Jung (13-4) is currently the 6th ranked featherweight in the UFC, but hasn’t stepped foot into the Octagon in over a year. Before losing a 4th round TKO to the champion, Jose Aldo, Jung had reeled off three straight victories coming over from WEC against Leonard Garcia, Mark Hominick, and Dustin Poirier to earn the number one contender spot.
