Dustin Jacoby Faces King Mo Lawal at Bellator 123, Marcus Sursa Out

First ‘King Mo’ Muhammed Lawal (12-4) was scheduled to fight Tom DeBlass at Bellator 123, but he pulled due to injury. Then Lawal was scheduled to fight replacement opponent, Marcus Sursa, but now he too is also out of the bout. King Mo now has a third scheduled opponent for his bout, and it is kickboxer Dustin Jacoby (10-3).

Jacoby will be making his Bellator debut, coming off a recent knockout victory at Titan FC 29 over Lucas Lopes. The former UFC veteran has also dabbled in kickboxing for Glory World Series, where he went 1-4, losing his last 3 bouts. Since suffering back-to-back losses in his only UFC appearances, Dustin Jacoby has gone 4-1 over his next 5 fights, with 3 knockout victories.

Lawal will be looking to bounce back from a split decision loss at Bellator 120 to long-time rival, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. The former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion has had an up and down career in Bellator, going 4-3 and winning one out of three light heavyweight tournaments.

The light heavyweight contest is expected to be the co-main event on the four fight main card airing on Spike TV.

Bellator 123 is Bellator’s Season 11 premier event and takes place on September 5th at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. The event is headlined by a featherweight title fight betwene Pat Curran and Patricio Freire.
