Henry Cejudo Off of UFC 177 vs. Scott Jorgensen Due to Medical Reasons

Just over 24 hours before he is scheduled to make his UFC debut at UFC 177, Henry Cejudo (6-0) has been taken off the card due to medical reasons. The Olympian was scheduled to take on Scott Jorgensen in Sacramento, California on the undercard of the PPV.

The 2008 Olympic Gold Medalist in freestyle wrestling has had a history of pulling out of fights in his short career, withdrawing from four fights over the past nine months—the first three being in Legacy FC. Cejudo wrestled at 55 kg (121 lbs) in the Olympics but has had trouble making the 125 lb flyweight limit in his career. His two previous bouts for Legacy FC were at a catchweight of 128 lbs.

As expected, Cejudo’s opponent Scott Jorgensen is devastated that he will not be able to compete after a long training camp and weight cut, but wishes Cejudo good health.

UFC 177 will continue as scheduled with nine bouts.
