Undefeated Brazilian prospect, Carlos Diego Ferreira (10-0) looks to continue the momentum following his impressive UFC debut over TUF 17 winner, Colton Smith. As he takes on TUF 13 finalist, Ramsey Nijem (9-4).

The former Legacy FC lightweight champion, Ferreira possesses a top grappling game, as evidenced by his six career submission victories.

Ramsey Nijem is coming off back to back victories, including a first round knockout of Beneil Dariush in his last bout.

The Brazilian, Diego Ferreira would keep his undefeated record in tact tonight, scoring the first knockout win of his career over Ramsey Nijem.

Round 1

Ramsey comes out aggressive, pushing Ferreira back with his strikes. Ferreira attempts a kick, caught and shoved to the ground by Nijem. Both fighters cautious now after the opening exchange, circling the cage. Both throw a left hook at the same time, Nijem lands his first and cracks the Brazilian. Ramsey trips Diego and ends up on top on the ground, for a brief moment before they’re back standing. Nijem continues to tag Ferreira on the feet, countering and landing straight punches.

Ferreira comes in and throws a lazy left hook, allowing Ramsey to take him down. But Nijem allows him back up, wary of his ground game. Ferreira comes forward and rocks Ramsey with several punches, dropping down for a kimura attempt. Ramsey defends, gets on top and lands several punches. Round 1 ends with Ferreira on top after going for a leg lock.

Round 2

Ramsey throws a kick that misses, and gets tagged with a right hand by Carlos Ferreira. Ramsey goes for a takedown attempt, which allows Ferreira to drop for a guillotine while pulling guard. Diego lets go of the choke, Ramsey is in top position. Ferreira pushes Ramsey away to get back to his feet. Diego throws a counter right hook as Ramsey was pushing forward, clips him right on the chin and puts him out for the 2nd round knockout.

“I been training a lot with my coaches at Team Ferreira, I been working a lot on my strikes, and that’s what I want. I’ve been training hard for this and it paid off,” Ferreira said.

“One shot can change everything, and that’s what I’ve been wanting on my record [a knockout]“.
