Titan Fighting Championships continues to bolster their roster adding two former Bellator featherweights to the promotion. Titan FC announced the signings of Bellator tournament winner and former title challenger, Shahbulat Shamhalaev along with former Bellator tournament finalist, Desmond Green, first reported by MMAFighting.com.
Shahbulat Shamhalaev (12-3-1) was among the 13 fighters released from Bellator in August, coming off back-to-back first round submission losses—including a featherweight title loss to the champion, Pat Curran. The Russian had previously gone 3-0 to begin his Bellator career—defeating Cody Bollinger, Mike Richman, and Rad Martinez to win the Season 7 featherweight tournament. The 31 year old recently lost to Fabricio Guerreiro at Bellator 120 in May.
Shamhalaev is expected to make his Titan FC debut at Titan FC 31 in October.
Desmond Green (11-3) was also one of the thirteen released fighters on that list, and ‘The Predator’ has quickly found a new home with Titan FC. The collegiate wrestling stand-out of out the University of Buffalo, came up short in his bid to win the season 10 Bellator featherweight tournament, losing by submission to Daniel Weichel in the finals. The loss snapped Green’s previous three-fight win streak, with wins over Angelo Sanchez, Mike Richman, and Will Martinez.
