The UFC hasn’t had many crazier months than August of this year, or ever.

Fighters are missing weight, fighters are stepping in on short notice as long as a week to as short as a day, a top lightweight signed to the promotion hours after leaving Bellator, even production trucks are being set on fire.

Although the UFC must be happy that the month is over, they have had some great highlights in August, just like they have in the past.

Last year in August, Josh Barnett  made his return to the UFC after twelve years, Anthony Pettis replaced TJ Grant to defeat Benson Henderson for the UFC Lightweight Championship, and the UFC made their debut on FOX Sports 1.

Other August moments for the UFC includes: the UFC’s return to Brazil after thirteen years, the first Chael Sonnen vs. Anderson Silva fight, Brock Lesnar earned his first UFC win over Heath Herring, and Diego Sanchez and Karo Parisyan had the Fight of the Year in 2006.

Now it was time to look back at the best moments the UFC had to offer in August, especially from the four events – would have been five with UFC 176 – with UFC Fight Night 47-49 and UFC 177.
