Reports circulated earlier today that Rich “Ace” Franklin would be headlining UFC 115 in Montreal against Chuck Liddell. MMAjunkie.com had reported that Tito Ortiz, who was set to face Liddell after season 11 of The Ultimate Fighter, was forced to leave taping of the show before it ended. As a result, Franklin stepped in to finish coaching and that is where the Liddell-Franklin talks started. The rumored Liddell vs. Franklin match is false. It was just yesterday that Mirko Cro Cop learned his opponent for UFC 110, Ben Rothwell, had pulled out of the bout which was scheduled to air live in the United States on Saturday night. Rothwell fell ill and removed himself from the card. Australian veteran Anthony Perosh stepped in on short notice to take the fight with Cro Cop.
