Joe Lauzon and Anthony Pettis square off Saturday night at UFC 144 and both are looking to get back into title contention. Lauzon won his most recent fight agains Melvin Guillard in a shocking upset. While Pettis may be most well known as the guy who kicked Henderson off the cage, he’s won five of six, but is only 1-1 in the UFC.

A new division for the UFC is nearly upon us and it brings us more little guys. The UFC will host a four man tournament to crown its inaugural flyweight champion. The competitors are Demetrious Johnson, Ian McCall, Joseph Benavidez and Yasuhiro Urishitani. The biggest question is what to expect from the division. It should contain a lot fast paced, technical fights and definitely will never be boring. It’s been two weeks since UFC 143 and Nick Diaz’s failed drug test and it’s been very quiet out of the Diaz camp. It almost seems as if Nick Diaz has truly followed through with his plan of retiring. The UFC is having it’s first Fuel card Wednesday with a headline of Jake Ellenberger vs. Diego Sanchez. Here are the main card predictions for the fights. Diego Sancehz has come a long way since winning the Ultimate Fighter 1 back in 2005. He’s gone from undefeated wrestler to No. 1 contender to afterthought and back to one of the top contenders in the welterweight division. Lorenzo Fertitta tweeted that Cain Velasquez’s first fight since the knockout loss to Junior Dos Santos will be against Frank Mir. After rumors of Mir against Werdum it seems that this will be a No. 1 contender spot. Velasquez was on a tear since he joined the UFC. He went 7-0 and won the heavyweight title by defeating Brock Lesnar by knockout and starting the slide of Lesnar’s career.
