Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal tested positive for a banned substance in a post fight drug test at Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine. Drostanolone is generally used by bodybuilders for cutting purposes. Lawal has won his last two fights by knock out and was expected to take on Gegard Mousasi for the vacant Strikeforce Light Heavyweight bout. Lawal has denied using any steroid prior to the event.

Strikeforce officials did what we all thought possible. No, that’s not making Fedor fight more than once a year — even though he will have to for this event — but it is put together some of the top heavyweights in the world for a World Grand Prix beginning February 12th. Todd Duffee recently turned down a chance to fight under the Strikeforce banner and face Antonio Silva. He politely declined the fight and is now scheduled to fight TUF alum Abe Wagner in the headline bout at Titan Fighting Championship on January 29th. In an anticlimactic announcement by Strikeforce, Nick Diaz is set to face off against Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos in San Jose, California for the organization’s January 29th show. The bout will be for Diaz’s welterweight title and is likely to serve and the event’s main event of the evening. Dan Henderson scored a vicious knockout victory against Babalu Sobral last night at Strikeforce: Henderson vs. Sobral. The win was Henderson’s fourth in five fights. It took just under two minutes for the mixed martial arts veteran to land the devastating blows that put Sobral to sleep. Strikeforce: Henderson vs. Babalu started off with a one-sided decision in favor of Ovince St. Preux as he destroyed Benji Radach. After that bout, things started to get interesting. In the night’s second bout, Antonio Silva had a forty pound advantage over his opponent but found himself in early trouble.
