UFC on Fox 2 Main Card Predictions
UFC on Fox 2 takes place tomorrow in Chicago with a great card for fans all over. There are two No. 1 contender bouts and the card is good enough to be a pay per view with the names of Sonnen, Bisping and Evans on it. Here are the main card predictions for tonight’s fights.
Has Rashad Earned His Shot?
If Rashad Evans wins Saturday against Phil Davis has he earned his title shot? He has fought three times in over two years and recently beat an over the hill Tito Ortiz.
What’s Next for Guillard?
Guillard dominated early, but was ultimately choked out less than half way through the first round by Jim Miller. After winning five in a row it looked like Guillard, one of the most athletic fighters, was finally putting it all together. Then came UFC 136, Guillard was riding high and it seemed if he won decisively he would earn his shot, but he came in too confident and was caught early by Joe Lauzon. After the defeat Guillard switched camps from Jackson’s MMA to train with the Blackzilians and walking into the cage last night seemed more focused than ever. [...]
Sonnen vs. Bisping on UFC on Fox 2
With Dana White announcing Mark Munoz is out of his bout with Chael Sonnen due to an elbow injury via twitter, Michael Bisping is now in as a replacement. White reported that Munoz had injured his elbow in a “key-lock type position” and didn’t feel any better after a cortizone shot.
Hard to Argue with Dana on ESPN Piece
Sunday ESPN did brought Outside the Lines to the UFC and did a report on fighter pay within the organization. ESPN reported that fighters are only making about 8-10% of all revenue generated by the UFC and won’t complain because of a fear of being released. Dana White calls the story “BS” and has waited to respond to the Outside the Lines story.
What Becomes of Rumble?
Dana White just used the three strikes and you’re out policy to cut ties with welterweight/middleweight fighter Anthony “Rumble” Johnson. The question now isn’t whether or not Johnson can compete in the UFC, but can he keep his weight under control. He has missed weight three times in his career, twice at 171 pounds and most recently missing by 12 pounds for his middleweight bout with Vitor Belfort. This isn’t the usual cut of a fighter based on performance, but whether Johnson can actually show up in shape to fights. Johnson looked slow and drawn out in the fight with [...]
Matches to Make After UFC 142
What a way to start off the new year. Jose Aldo continued his dominance of the featherweight division at UFC 142 in Rio while Vitor Belfort made sure an overweight “Rumble” Johnson didn’t stop the momentum he built after his vicious knockout of “Sexyama.” The rest of the card was no sneeze fest, Palhares grabbed his signature heel hook against Mike Massenzio and Edson Barboza gave us a knockout of the year candidate with his spinning heel kick. Here are the matches to make after UFC 142 for the main card winners. Jose Aldo vs. Chan Sung Jung Aldo destroyed [...]
