Dan Henderson defeated Fedor Emelianenko in an epic first round at tonight’s Strikeforce event. Prior to the fight, the Strikeforce commentators were touting Fedor as the “Michael Jordan of MMA” despite coming off of two straight defeats. After suffering a TKO loss in round one, Dana White immediately took to Twitter to give his thoughts.

Dana White announced today via a video on twitter that Nate Marquardt had indeed pulled out of his UFC on Versus 4 main event. He also announced that Marquardt had been released from the world’s leading fight organization. There have been many speculations but no reasons for the release of the former Middleweight. Quoteworthy: UFC president Dana White on Wednesday said that Cro Cop asked for and will receive the final agreed-upon fight from his contract at a future date to be determined. According to a report earlier today from Mike Chiapetta of MMA Fighting, both UFC 130 main event participants — lightweight champion Frankie Edgar and number one contender Gray Maynard — are both unable to fight after suffering injuries in training. Edgar reportedly broke his ribs, while Maynard is nursing a knee injury. UFC president Dana White has since confirmed the report. The  loss of the main event is a huge blow to the fight card.
