AUTHOR: | IN: MMA | COMMENTS: None Yet

Dana White announced today via a video on twitter that Nate Marquardt had indeed pulled out of his UFC on Versus 4 main event. He also announced that Marquardt had been released from the world’s leading fight organization. There have been many speculations but no reasons for the release of the former Middleweight. Mirko Cro Cop Will Fight One More Time In The UFC

AUTHOR: | IN: MMA | COMMENTS: None Yet

Quoteworthy: UFC president Dana White on Wednesday said that Cro Cop asked for and will receive the final agreed-upon fight from his contract at a future date to be determined. White stated that he and Cro Cop (27-9-2, 1 no decision) had made a deal, and he would “honor my deal.” He offered no further details as to when or who he would face in the bout. “Do I think he should have retired? Yeah,” White said. “But I don’t think he’s in one of these situations like Chuck Liddell, who needed to retire right then. He’s a man, a [...]

AUTHOR: | IN: MMA | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

According to a report earlier today from Mike Chiapetta of MMA Fighting, both UFC 130 main event participants — lightweight champion Frankie Edgar and number one contender Gray Maynard — are both unable to fight after suffering injuries in training. Edgar reportedly broke his ribs, while Maynard is nursing a knee injury. UFC president Dana White has since confirmed the report. The  loss of the main event is a huge blow to the fight card. With no other replacement, a light-heavyweight bout between Rampage Jackson and Matt Hamill has been promoted to the main event. Roy Nelson vs Frank Mir [...]

In a possible sign that the world is coming to an end and that business is anything but as usual, UFC president Dana White is in attendance for tonight’s Strikeforce event with Zuffa co-founder Lorenzo Fertitta. Zuffa purchased Strikeforce in March of this year. Here is an image of the surreal event:
