  Tyron Woodley is expected to take the place of injured Evangalist ‘Cyborg’ Santos against Paul Daley. The fight, which is slated for July 30th, and could be for a chance to fight for the vacated Strikeforce Welterweight Championship. It appears that Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos has suffered a shoulder injury in training and will be forced to withdraw from his scheduled July 30th bout against British slugger Paul Daley, sources close to Cyborg’s camp told MMAprime.tv. Strikeforce: Diaz vs Daley will take place this weekend live on Showtime. The event features two championship bouts — Nick Diaz vs Paul Daley for the welterweight title and Gilbert Melendez vs. Tatsuya Kawajiri for the lightweight strap. Also on the card is a light heavyweight bout featuring Gegard Mousasi and UFC vet Keith Jardine, as well as another lightweight battle between Lyle Beerbohm and top-ranked lightweight Shinya Aoki. Paul “Semtex” Daley delivered on his promise to knockout DEEP welterweight champion Yuya Shirai in the first round of BAMMA 5 this weekend. The event took place at MEN Arena in Manchester, England. Daley vs. Shirai served as the night’s main event. Daley connected with a beautiful uppercut, left hook combination that was the end for Shirai. The Japanese fighter remained unconscious for several minutes. With the victory, Paul Daley earned himself a shot at the Strikeforce welterweight gold — if he makes weight. He will face off against champion Nick Diaz in a yet to be determined event.

It was supposed to be a welterweight title fight, but that all changed when Paul “Semtex” Daley (26-9-2) missed weight.
