French Canadian mixed martial artist Jonathan “The Road Warrior” Goulet has announced his decision to call it quits on his career. Goulet entered the UFC octagon nine times in his career and recorded a 4-5 record. On his career, Goulet earned himself a 23-12 record.
“The Road Warrior” announced the news on his Facebook page just a day after dropping his third fight in four outings. Goulet fought for Ringside MMA this past weekend and was knockout out at 1:06 into the second round when his opponent Chris Clements landed an over-hand right right and left hook to send Goulet unconscious to the mat. The bout was for the Ringside MMA welterweight title.
Goulet’s message to his fans read:
I slept on what i had in my head yesterday and I took the decision to hang my gloves! I think it’s enough for me. It’s time to start something else. Thanks everybody, it has been an awesome career.
“The Road Warrior” was on the wrong side of the unofficial fastest knockout in UFC history when Duane Ludwig disposed of him in only five seconds. The official timekeepers clock ran long.
Goulet was easily recognized by his colorful hair that would often include his sponsorships worked in to the design. During his career, he was involved in many exciting fights including UFC 83 against Kuniyoshi Hironaka where he earned Fight of the Night honors.
