After seventeen months outside the Octagon, Jessica Rakoczy (1-4, 1 NC) returns at UFC 186 to fight Valerie Letourneau (6-3). The women’s bantamweight bout will take place on Apr. 25 at the Bell Centre in Montreal. The UFC Canada Twitter account announced the fight Tuesday afternoon.
Letourneau made her promotional debut in June at UFC 174. “Trouble” earned a Split Decision over Elizabeth Phillips in Vancouver, extending her winning streak to two. The 31-year-old Montreal native, now training in Florida at American Top Team, has won five of her last six with four of those victories being stopped before the third round.
Rakoczy, 37, competed on the eighteenth season of The Ultimate Fighter; the first to feature WMMA fighters. After defeating Revelina Berto, Roxanne Modafferi, and Raquel Pennington to make it to the finals, the former professional boxer ultimately lost to eventual TUF 18 Winner, Julianna Pena via first-round TKO in the finale.
In addition to the battle of Canadian WMMA fighters, TJ Dillashaw will defend his UFC Bantamweight Champion against Renan Barao in the main event. Rory MacDonald vs. Hector Lombard, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson vs. Fabio Maldonado, and Michael Bisping vs. CB Dollaway will also take place at UFC 186 in Montreal.
