Mayweather vs. McGregor: Where to watch in the United States
If you don’t want to watch the fight alone, or if you don’t want to pay the full cost of the pay-per-view, there are many places in the United States that will be showing Mayweather vs. McGregor.
This weekend, arguably the biggest fight of the year in any combat sport is happening. Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor will meet in the ring on Saturday.
Some would even go as far as to say that it’s one of the biggest fights of all time, because of the way it’s pitting two sports against each other and drawing in two different fanbases.
Even for those who only view the fight as a novelty, it’s been hard to ignore. It’s been all over the news, even in MMA circles, and it hasn’t just been Mayweather Promotions and the UFC advertising the fight.

New York City
If you’re in the largest city in the United States, you have some options. There’s a number of bars showing the fight, but here’s a rundown on some of the most notable.
The Brewery Bar & Kitchen is the cheapest option, and you can get in for a $25 cover fee. You can call ahead of time to make reservations, and the bar offers both food and drinks, with over 15 beers and a full menu. It’s located in Queens, at 49-18 30th Ave.
In Manhattan, Tribeca Tap House is an option. The bar is located at 363 Greenwich St. and the fee is $50, but you can save $20 by buying your spot during the pre-sale. If you want to make a reservation, the phone number is 718-777-8007.
Another viewing party in Manhattan is at Turtle Bay Grill & Lounge, located at 987 Second Ave. They have three different prices: $30 for general admission, $35 for premium admission, and $40 for VIP admission. You can order tickets ahead of time at this link.
California
The two halves of California tell two different stories. It’s harder to find somewhere to watch the fight in the north, but those in Southern California have more options. Here are some of the places from both ends of the state.
In San Francisco, the main option is Blackthorn, which is an official UFC bar.
The UFC site confirms it as showing the fight, and it’s located at 834 Irving St. The bar is Irish themed, and pre-sale tickets cost $40. If you want to order ahead of time, the bar’s phone number is 415-564-6626.
In Southern California, there are multiple Cabo Cantina locations that will show the fight. For more details, it’s a good idea to check in with the locations individually. Here’s the locations page, where you can find the closest one.
For San Diego, the option that’s closest to the city centre is the Fiesta Cantina, located at 142 University Ave. in Hillcrest. Their site doesn’t contain information about prices, but the UFC Bars website does confirm that they’ll have the live PPV.
Chicago
For a reasonable price in Chicago, consider The Boundary. Their viewing party begins at 7:30 and tickets cost $30. However, make sure to order ahead of time, because no tickets will be sold at the door. The bar can be found at 1932 W Division St, and you can order tickets through EventBrite.
There’s also Rockit Bar and Grill, which has the cheapest price on this list at only $20. The lower level of the building is a bar and the upper level is a lounge, and if you want to watch the fight here, you can order pre-sale tickets at their website.
But what if you aren’t in one of these big cities, like New York, Los Angeles, or Chicago? There are still some options for you.
Other options
Buffalo Wild Wings is a nationally known chain that has locations in every major city and shows UFC events. If you choose to go there, you may have to arrive more than an hour early to be able to get a table, because of how crowded their locations can get for fights.
Some locations also have cover charges, while others don’t, and the requirement for how much food you have to buy varies from place to place. It’s best to check with your local location ahead of time if you’re curious about the details. If you want to find where the closest one is, their website has a locator.
If you want to skip the crowd of Buffalo Wild Wings, or if you want to save some money and look for a cheaper option, make sure to check the UFC Bars website. You can input your zip code and find the closest bars that are confirmed to host viewing parties. However, this site doesn’t give information on things like cover fees and the timing of the parties.
So, what if you’ve looked through all the options and decided that watching at home is better for you? Here’s the information on the PPV.
Pay-Per-View
If you have any of the major TV providers, you can order the pay-per-view from Showtime. Xfinity, DirecTV, Verizon Fios, and Dish Network are all participating, along with many other providers.
Cord cutters have some options, too. If you’re a PlayStation user, you can buy the card from the PlayStation Store. You can also use ShowtimePPV.com, which allows you to stream to your computer, or UFC.tv, which streams to other devices also.
The price is $99.95, and while it’s higher priced than a normal UFC pay-per-view, you aren’t just buying a normal fight. It might be worth at least considering if only to be able to say that you were watching live when one of the most hyped fights in combat sports history happened.
